Ok, for those of you that don’t know, yesterday I had members of highly respected, all round ace internet marketers forum sharing my report by private message to each other. Now, thankfully this was an isolated incident. 99% of the people on this forum are great to work with, honest and straight forward. There is a hardcore group of bad apples though.

I’d break these two group down into opportunists and persistant and determined theives. Now,  I have no idea how many were from the first group versus the latter yesterday, but I did realise a couple of things regarding piracy.

Firstly, it’s not going to go away. Piracy is theft. Theft is a part of any business. However, most businesses have a loss prevention department. Many online businesses don’t and its easy to see why, after all how do they start, how do they pursue things, and keep it going?

Many of us start and end our loss prevention department with the installation of a secure download script. I can tell you now, that isn’t enough. Something needs to be done, and something is being done.

It’s not going to stop piracy, I would be lying if I said that, but what it will do is seriously clamp down on casual piracy.
